Description

The Sarna Baseball Glove Maintenance Kit is the complete solution for keeping your glove in peak playing condition. Designed for both new and well-loved gloves, this all-in-one kit includes everything you need to clean, condition, and protect your leather—ensuring it stays soft, flexible, and ready for game day.

Inside the kit you’ll find:

  • A premium glove cleaner that gently removes dirt, grime, sweat, and salt without damaging or darkening the leather.
  • Our flagship water-based conditioner, trusted for restoring moisture and flexibility while maintaining your glove’s original color.
  • Two specialized brushes: a hog hair brush for surface cleaning and a horsehair brush for deep care and conditioner application.
  • A double-sided microfiber cloth for easy application—one side soft for conditioning, the other textured for cleaning.

With Sarna’s easy three-step process—clean, condition, and restore—you’ll notice immediate improvements in the feel and look of your glove. The leather becomes more supple, the color looks richer, and the glove stays durable through every season.

Step 1 — Prep & Clean

  1. Dust off: Use the hog hair brush to knock off loose dirt—pay attention to the palm, pocket, hinge, and along the laces.
  2. Apply cleaner: Add a small amount (dime-size) of cleaner to the textured side of the microfiber cloth or directly onto the hog hair brush.
  3. Work in sections: Gently scrub with light, circular motions. Don’t over-wet—thin, even coverage is best.
  4. Wipe & dry: Use the microfiber cloth to lift away residue. Air-dry in a cool, shaded area until fully dry to the touch (typically 20–30 minutes, humidity may vary).

Pro Tip: Test cleaner on a small, hidden spot first. Avoid direct heat or sunlight.

Step 2 — Condition & Restore

  1. Light coat only: Put a pea- to dime-size amount of conditioner on the soft side of the cloth or the horsehair brush.
  2. Even application: Massage a thin, uniform layer into the leather—focus on high-stress areas (pocket, web, hinge, heel). Work around and under laces where possible.
  3. Let it absorb: Allow 30–60 minutes for the conditioner to soak in. The surface should feel dry, not tacky.
  4. Optional second pass: For very dry leather, apply a second thin coat after the first has fully absorbed.
  5. Buff to finish: Lightly buff with the microfiber cloth for a clean, ready-to-play finish.

Good to know: The formula is water-based and non-darkening, so it nourishes without changing color or making the glove floppy.

Step 3 — Shape & Maintain

  1. Form the pocket: While the leather is pliable, place a ball in the pocket and open-close the glove 10–20 times to set shape.
  2. Store smart: Keep a ball in the pocket and store in a cool, dry place—no heaters, cars, or windowsills.
  3. Ongoing care: Quick wipe-downs after use; light cleaning as needed. Condition every 4–6 weeks in season (or when leather looks dry). Over-conditioning isn’t necessary—thin, occasional coats are best.

Whether you’re breaking in a new glove or reviving an old favorite, the Sarna Glove Maintenance Kit provides professional-level care in one simple package.
