Top 10 Middle Infielder's Baseball Gloves Out Right Now

With so many different models, styles, webs, and glove lengths, we at Better Baseball took it upon ourself to rank some of our favorite gloves in the middle infielder category for this season. We compiled our list strictly off personal prefrence and aethetic choice. If you are in the market for a short stop or second basemen's glove we have a huge variety to fit your own taste and style. Take a look and see if your glove made our list.

We start our top 10 list with the glove worn by none other than Platinum Glove Award winner Francisco Lindor. This 11.75” pro preferred is definitely one of Rawling’s best looking and feeling gloves in their Pro Preferred line up. Sporting the platinum Oval R and a platinum welting, this glove is destined to stand out on any field. The black kip leather is accented nicely with the red laces as well. The pittard sheepskin lining on this Lindor Model feels like a dream when you try it on. The PROSFL12B is definitely one of the nicest feeling gloves on our list.

Coming it at number 9 is the 2021 Wilson A2000 SC86. Pardon the pun, but Wilson puts a new “spin” on their 1786 model for 2021 with their SC86 A2000  featuring the all new Spin Control Technology. By adding a patented dimpled texture to their Pro-Stock Leather, Wilson has developed a new glove texture that allows for more friction and ball control for middle infielders. This SC86 A2000 will help players better corral baseballs and make it easier when transferring the ball to your throwing hand. The blonde outer shell pairs nicely with the spin control stamped walnut leather palm and wrist strap. A classic look with modern enhancements should be a popular option for middle infielders this season.

Sliding into number 8 on our list of top middle infielders gloves is the blonde and copper red 1787 A2000 from Wilson. You heard it here, copper red is the new hotness for 2021. This 11.75’’ A2000 shows off that new aesthetic with this i-web design. We love this new look and if you are short stop looking for a classy look with a new color combo this could be the glove for you.

At number 7 on our list is the 1787SS Wilson A2K. One of the meanest looking gloves in the 2021 Wilson lineup. The 1787 is constructed with an all black leather shell and palm with red accents. What makes this 1787 Wilson A2K so special is the deadly combination of both super-skin and stamped snakeskin patterns. Specifically crafted with additional length, the A2K 1787SS is the perfect glove for those who play multiple positions in the infield. A smooth pairing of  black pro stock leather and black snakeskin pro stock select leather with red stitching and logos will make this glove stand up in prime time.

Making its way to number 6 on our list is the Wilson A2000 SC75SS. This Wilson A2000 11.75 glove is designed with one of Wilson’s newest leather innovations, Spin Control Technology. With a joint collaboration with MLB players and the Glove Experts at Wilson, this new A2000 Spin Control glove tech will be a literal game-changer. The dimpled leather pattern will prevent balls from popping out of the pocket as well as giving players more control on glove to throwing hand transfers. The SC75SS features on all grey superksin shell, red welting, and a black I-web with of course the spin control leather palm.

Number 5 on the list of 10 is the all grey 1912SS. Another super skin glove like the last one it is also lightweight, and if you’re looking for something even bigger than the 11.75 this glove is 12 inches. This is the other non I web I mentioned under the previous glove and The new Wilson line is full of great gloves and it was hard to pick just ten when you are also looking at other glove manufacturers. So if your favorite glove isn't on our list doesn’t mean it isn't good.

Number 4 on the list goes to the 1785SS. SS meaning super skin so you know you are getting a glove that is more lightweight and durable. This glove has a single post web, which makes it one of two gloves on our top 10 that doesn’t have an I web. If you’re looking for a glove that is a little bit longer than the traditional 11.5 but doesn’t tack on any extra weight like an all leather glove then this one might be for you. The all black super skin look with red laces is tough to pass up. This glove will look brand new longer than most on the list.

Our first Rawlings on the top 10 list should be no surprise. This Pro Preferred 11.5 inch PROS204-2C is perfect for middle infielders. It comes in a clean camel colored leather with red and blue accents and sheepskin palm lining to wick away moisture. if you’re looking for a high quality glove, and Wilson isn’t for you, then try out this Rawlings mitt. It won’t disappoint!

The Ozzie albies game model hits our # 2 spot for a couple reasons. This is one of the highest quality glovse on the market and it comes in a flashy all red color with yellow welting and stiching. You’re getting everything but the kitchen sink with this glove. It has Wilson’s Pro Stock Select Leather, double palm construction, and three times as much shaping to keep this glove in peak performance for much longer than other gloves.
