2021 Marucci Cat 9 BBCOR
One of the most anticipated bats of the 2021 season has to be the latest edition from Marucci in their Cat Series, the Cat 9 BBCOR. The predecessor of the CAT 9, the CAT 8 was one of the most popular one-piece alloy bats on both the high school and collegiate baseball scenes. Power hitters loved the large sweet spot, and contact hitters loved the balance and feel of CAT 8. Unlike most manufactures, Marucci releases their new line of bats every 2 years, which allows their R&D department more time to continue to improve and develop better technologies. CAT9 BBCOR FEATURES
- Utilizing a three-stage thermal treatment process, our new AZR alloy offers a more responsive microstructure for better feel, more forgiveness and more performance while maintaining the same strength as its predecessor
- Using a Longitudinal Groove System, LGS, across the thickest section of the barrel wall allows for excess weight reduction while also increasing flexibility for an increased performance zone
- Multi-variable wall design creates an expanded sweet spot and thinner barrel walls that are more forgiving after offer-centered contact
- 2nd Generation AV2 Anti-Vibration knob features an upgraded, finely tuned harmonic dampening system for better feel and less negative vibrational feedback
- Ring-free barrel construction allows for more barrel flex and increases performance with no "dead" spots
- Precision-balanced barrel results in a lower M.O.I. and balanced feel for precision and control
- One-piece alloy construction provides a clean, consistent, traditional swing
- Professionally inspired handle features a removable taper and an ergonomic knob shape for more top-hand control and comfort
- Micro-perforated soft-touch grip with extra tack improves feel and control
