Top 5 Catcher's Mitts Out Right Now

To start off the list we went with the Rawlings Pro preferred CM43 model. This catcher's mitt has a narrow but deep pocket for better control when framing pitches. The all blonde look is definitely an eye catcher, and there is no surprise of why this is on our list. The CM43 pro preferred is super comfortable because of the wool padding and wrist strap. The sheepskin lining wicks away moisture to keep your hand dry and glove feeling nice even on the hottest summer day behind the plate. This is one of the biggest gloves on our list so if you’re looking for a 34 inch glove to frame pitches at the highest level, you have found the best one.

Hitting our 4th spot is the Wilson M1D A2K. Not much needs to be said about this glove. You know you’re getting one of the highest quality gloves on the market with this snake skin stamped A2K. It has an extended palm and a deeper pocket to stick anything thrown at you. It comes with the stamped snakeskin pattern for a little flair and saddle tan accents for an overall great looking glove. These are notorious for taking awhile to break in only due to the high quality leather used on their top tier A2K models. Both pro and college catchers love the ridgidness and thick padding, and you shoudl too.

This Wilson A2000 PF33SS is made for catchers with smaller hands who want more glove control. Wilson and Dustin Pedroia have been collaborating on a lot of A2000 this year. This mitt has a smaller hand opening and narrow and shorter finger stalls. Another cool spec about this A2000 is that it comes with snakeskin superskin which makes the glove lighter. This mitt also comes with a deep pocket which is perfect for framing and blocking wild pitches. Wilson does not stray away from quality this mitt also comes with prolux leather lining, pro stock leather, dual welting, and flat finger binding for those who prefer to play with a finger outside of the glove. If you're a fan of the Wilson and Pedroia collab please go check out our previous blog where we talked about the A2000 PF88SS infield glove.

The CM3000SBT is one of the most popular mitts used by the pros. This mitt comes with exclusive japanese tanned steer hide which allows a fast break in and extended life. The pocket on this mitt has a great feel and gives the ball that extra pop that pitchers like. This glove has the right amount of support for handling the ball. Also, this mitt comes with an extended pro pocket which is good for strength and support. Unlike most catchers mitt this CM3000 is designed with a locking tab back which eliminates bulk, improves comfort, and allows easy adjustment.

The 2021 A2000 CM33 catchers mitt takes the last spot in our top 5 list. This mitt comes with a thinner toe pad and deeper pocket which make framing and picking pitches out of the dirt effortless. The design of this mitt has more simplicity and gives a cleaner look. It also has simple outlined bold logos that puts the finishing touches on this 33” mitt. Also, this glove comes with prolux leather lining, dual welting, pro stock leather, and flat finger binding which allows players to play comfortably with a finger outside of their glove.
